Auto Expo 2016 - Yamaha brings MT-9 to India at INR 10.20 Lakhs!
Wow! finally the touch of Yamaha's darkness is here and we are loving it!
As was expected, Yamaha has launched its first MT-Series bike in India, the MT-09 at a price of INR10.20 Lakhs Ex-Showroom Delhi and was launched by none other than John Abraham at the Auto Expo 2016 today.
Powered by a 847cc liquid cooled Inline three cyclinder motor with SOHC and 4 valves, the MT-09 produces a power output of a staggering 115Ps@10000rpm and a peak torque is equally good at 89Nm@8500rpm. Add all this to a street naked that weighs only 188kg (191kg for ABS) and you get one seriously explosive bike at your disposal. Also, the all new MT Series is proving to be a huge success for Yamaha all over the globe and we reckon, the MT-09 would also fair well in India.
To be brought as a CBU the MT-09 will be available in only two colours in India, Race Blue and Matte Gray. While the braking is provided by 298mm twin discs up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The MT-09 comes shod with 17inch tyres at both end where the front gets 127/70 and the rear gets 180/55 spec tubeless tyre. The MT-09 has a fuel capacity of 14 litres and a oil tank capacity of 3.4 litres.
The Yamaha MT-09 competes with the Triumph Street Triple, Benelli TNT899 and the Kawasaki Z800.
